Tour de France flower bicycle

There are lots of cycling routes in Basse Normandy, too numerous to list.  Try searching ‘cycling around Domfront’ and ‘cycling around Flers’ and you will see what we mean.  Use our gite as a base to explore the area. There is also a bike shop in Flers (13k) should you need repairs although we will have chain lube and GT85 should you need to give your bike a quick service yourself.  Flers also has a mainline rail station and a more comprehensive range of shops.

Cycling in this area takes you through quintessential Normandy countryside, with traditional hedgerows, apple orchards and woods where you can cycle along quiet roads and enjoy the scenery.  Domfront is also part of the Velosciene route from Paris to Mont Saint-Michel and as we are only 10k from Domfront we can offer comfortable accommodation to re-charge your batteries for the rest of your journey.

Take a detour from the  Petit Tour de Manche to explore the wooded valleys of the Orne, the medieval town of Domfront and the pretty village of Lonlay L’Abbaye.  Retrace your steps or continue to Mortain and across to Avranches to pick up the Tour de Manche or the Petit Tour de Manche again.

We offer clean and comfortable surroundings with safe locked storage for equipment.  Our single night rate includes bed linen and towels, water, electricity and WIFI and basics for a light breakfast.  Also available at a small charge are laundry facilities (washing machine and tumble drier).  Meals and packed lunches can be provided (24 hour notice), please ask for rates.
